Inspirational Wisdom Flash Poems
Relationships. We love them. We hate them. But who can live without them? Everywhere we turn, they're in our faces. Part of the human experience, actually a great portion, is about the relationships we have and how they affect us. Whether they be romantic or platonic, our relationships can direct us toward the realm of deepest love and greatest personal growth. What is the inexplicable force behind the magnetic attraction and sometimes repulsion we feel while in the throws of certain relationships? Why is it that some people seem to have the ability to push all our buttons and shake us to our core? Why do we sometimes connect instantly and deeply with certain people as if we have known them forever? Why are we drawn time and again to people and events that stir in us the same patterns? These are some of the mysteries of what I call Karmic Relationships and have explored for nearly two decades. We are quite familiar with the term "romantic relationships," but what are Karmic Relationships? The answer to that question and the relationship mysteries you've encountered go back further than our present life. Karmic Relationships are woven from the threads of past-life experiences with souls that we have encountered long ago and who again become players on the stage our life. The encounters you had together previously influence the interaction you will have, or are having today. So what is karma? Karma is simply a universal law that rewards you when you give constructively to another, society, or life in thought, word, deed or action. Karma is also the law that eventually requires you to face life events that echo back from the time you were unwilling to do the right thing. Karma's essence is the energetic expression of cause and effect that governs the actions of all life. Although it's neither good or bad we label it depending on whether it makes us happy or sad, brings us pleasure or pain. It's all a matter of interpretation and even painful karma has its value in the refinement of the soul - especially when it comes to relationships. Rewards or challenges as karmic effects can come weeks, months, years, or lifetimes after we have initiated a cause. We may forget, but karmic law is precise. Karmic Relationships are your "cats in the bushes." These cats represent the hidden or invisible aspects of relationships. Karmic Relationships are the eternal bonds you have with other souls. They transcend time and space and last beyond one lifetime. No matter how they look on the surface, from loving and sublime to disruptive and unhealthy, Karmic Relationships are designed to help you eventually achieve unconditional love. At first, however, they may often appear to be far off the mark. That instant recognition or unexplained familiarity we have when we first meet another is a past life recognition between souls. Karmic Relationships surround us constantly whether we realize it or not. The stronger that initial attraction or reaction between those we first meet, the stronger the karmic ties are from past lives. Think about the phrases: "love at first sight," "they were meant for each other," or "there was something about that person that just turned me off." Are you starting to get the picture? The energy of karmic ties draws us together in spite of ourselves. Falling in love is really falling in karma. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but can be a mixed blessing depending on the past lives shared. Over the years, I've recognized that all my significant relationships have been Karmic Relationships. When I've remembered this principle, and it ain't always easy, I've tried to make the best of each encounter with others. Many times I've forgotten that every relationship offers an opportunity for growth. This forgetting is essentially like falling unconscious as if asleep in a dream. Many times we leave relationships with patterns and issues unresolved. If you are sincere in your desire to live from the heart, the relationships in your life start to reflect the joy of soul. You are ultimately guided to an expanded understanding of the dynamics that play out in all your relationships. Whether it's a romantic relationship or not you learn to recognize and define the energy and patterns that draw to you to the people who show up in your life. Valentine's Day is often a time when romance blossoms or the yearning for a soul mate comes forth in the minds and hearts of those who are single. It also provides an occasion for those already in a relationship to show love and gratitude to each other. Finding that ideal love partner can be as elusive as winning the lottery, but many invest in and dream of such an occasion It's often said that relationships are hard work. They don't have to be, but resolving karmic ties from past lives can sometimes make them so. What gets us through those rough times with greater ease is the ability to stay present and love unconditionally. Even soul mates have their moments.
