Dr. Mikao Usui received the Enlightened Wisdom of Reiki healing energy on Mt. Kuriyama in 19th century Japan during an extended fast and meditation. A great wellspring of Reiki energy issued through the spark of his enlightenment.

Dr. Usui recovered the "lost" knowledge of how to access and transmit the Life Force Energy called Reiki through Hands-on Healing. From this wellspring, a great river of Peace and healing has flowed through the teachers and students who were (and are) blessed to receive Reiki empowerment.
All Reiki lineage issues from that sacred source and it flows through the hands of Reiki Masters and practitioners of all nations, cultures and religions to this very day.

Reiki relaxes and de-stresses, as a flow of subtle Energy promotes healing on all levels. Reiki can be used to treat people, animals, plants and, generally, for situational Energy balancing and Earth healing

The Reiki Energy is drawn by intent (both conscious and unconscious intent) through the Reiki practitioner according to the needs of the recipient of the Energy. Reiki always heals for the best and highest good of the recipient, the practitioner, and for the Universe. Reiki heals on all levels-Spiritual, mental, physical and emotional (as well as other levels of which we are unaware consciously). Utilizing this unique system, the practitioner and recipient are healed simultaneously. Both benefit from multi-level healing and neither is compromised by the condition of the other. Reiki healing is unique in that the practitioner is never drained by the healing experience.

Who Can Practice Reiki?

Anyone who has been attuned and taught by a Reiki Master can use Reiki for healing for him/herself and others. Reiki will flow automatically when a practitioner’s hands are placed on a person needing healing. A desire to learn and use Reiki is all that is necessary to receive Reiki training. Reiki training is open to people of all religious and cultural backgrounds.

What Can Reiki Heal?

Reiki has been used for healing for all types of conditions and ailments. Many clients have experienced accelerated healing when combining Reiki with traditional allopathic and/or alternative medicine. Since Reiki works individually to the underlying need of the client and comes from a Higher Intelligence, results are always healing, but may be unpredictable. Reiki has reduced stress (and pain). Chemotherapy and radiation patients who have received Reiki have noticed a marked decrease in side effects from treatment. Reiki does not work to an agenda of the practitioner or client. It works according to a level of higher awareness and higher consciousness. Reiki healing has been responsible for dramatic healings and also, it has allowed individuals to depart with resolution and in a state of Peace.
